diy boiler water chemicals
« on: September 12, 2014, 04:08:26 AM »

this may sound stupid, iand i am by no means cheap, but wouldn`t you basic
pool water treatment work on a boiler say p.h +or ph-.why i say this is cause we have a steam boiler at
work and the tube took to leaking.a local has knew an old man who did boiler repair.
he came and checked it out and said the any water ph balancer could be used in a boiler if test were
done and it was added in the right quantities.   SOOOO what you think ???

duke,

It might be Okay for ph adjustment but, You do not put rust inhibitors in a pool. Your always better off to use what the Furnace Company recommends.

This way you do not have a warranty issue trying to do it yourself with chemicals that are not approved by your Furnace Company.

Its not cheaper in the long run if you void your warranty!

Hope this helps

i agree with you totally, but that guy also said that all the chemicals you need could be purchased at
your local hardware store for 1-5th the price.seems odd that he would suggest this to a buisness who uses
the boiler for there livelyhodd if it would not work.who knows.just found it odd

I don't know if it would work or not but I doubly many people would try it to save a few dollars when it only costs $20 per 200 gallons of water for the right stuff.
