Palletainers are great, especially if you get them at plant that is shutting down. Otherwise, a little pricey, unless you factor in the fact that you could toss cuts directly in and stack, only other handling is when wood is fed to boiler.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: Bio burner
« on: February 05, 2015, 01:56:42 PM »
I was watching a video on a bio mass burner called Bio-burner. It says it burns wood chips, sawdust, and horse manure w/ bedding! Have a small farm and lots of manure but in the video it says it has to be processed through there processor. Sounds $$$$$$. Has anyone looked into this further? What a great concept for small farms with 3-5 horses. Free Manure Free Heat.

I believe burning poop is common in India, and places like that. Works good for them. Throw a shovel full in every now and then. Don't forget to let us know if it smells like chicken...... ;D

I wouldn't think adding chimney height would be the issue here. What would did you burn last season? Did you do any maintenance on unit over the summer? I added sections to mine to get the exhaust up so wouldn't blow back in my face, no increase in smoke. I am curious as to what you find out.

First, don't let the fire go out! ;D ;D ;D. Biggest loser is burning green wood, lots of energy being used to dry the wood before you gain any heat. Seasoned wood will improve your burn times. But, if all you have available this year is green, burn it. I got my boiler off for the year due to surgery, so my wood will be seasoned  a year ahead, finally. It was tough pill to swallow when I had to pay the L.P. supplier, though.  :(

Remind me of an incident 6 or 7 years ago. My son was throwing shingles to me and passerby threatened to turn me in. I was not polite in my response. Told them to mind their own business, I was teaching the kid work ethics as well as a trade. Told them to turn me in if they must, but remember that when they complain about the youth of today. My son was 9 or 10 at the time. He works for a dairy farmer up the road now and they are so impressed with how hard he works and his willingness to do whatever it takes.

Did our part in Iowa. Dropped the ball some on the state senate, but I will take the national victory and the governor's victory. Hopefully, republicans will grow a pair and do what needs to be done instead of worrying about 2016.

Finally got to the point where I filled the waste oil boiler I built to check for leaks, had two very minor seeps. Planned on being a lot further than this except the wife and I got rear ended a little over three weeks ago and the back has been jacked ever since. MRI yesterday, hopefully the last one of those ever. My 99 Cummins was totaled, dude hit us hard enough it bent both frame rails. His insurance company has been jacking me around ever since, I'm about to lawyer up and return the favor.

I would definately get a lawyer for your accident. I am still fighting going on 4 years. If you don't, any future problems that could be attributed back to accident will cost you a bundle. I am sure you will get questionaire in the mail asking if this was result of work, auto accident, etc.. Many more back issues could arise in the future related to this. I am recovering from a fusion surgery at this moment as a result of an accident, Good luck and god bless.

Edited to remove photo.

U know what, I wish we lived in a time where if they came on ur land u could blow there damn head off..  I'm sorry, I know this won't sit well with many folks but I, me, my business are all under attack and I've had enough bs.

We are stripped of our rights more and more and more and more everyday and I'm just tired of it..

Anyone ready to revolt?
I have been ready for a long time. Sick and tired of retarded politicians and tree huggers pushing their agendas on the rest of us. I eat meat, burn wood, drive an SUV and a big truck, I ride ATV's for fun, and the biggest sin of all................I have a....................um...............................shish.......gun. That gun is just waiting for me to piss it off so it can hurt me, I am so afraid, I  hope it can't find the shells and load itself. These politicians all need to go. Seems simple enough to me, that if we were following our constitution, we wouldn't need any new laws and a hell of a lot less politicians. I am with you 100%

I am the owner of CVR Manufacturing (the company that purchased the Heatsource1 Brand of stoves) I just want to respond to shawbran about my company.

You talked to me. You called looking for free technical information on a stove that we do not make and I have no experience running. I spent several minutes listening to your problems and making suggestions. You asked if I would take it in trade and I told you I would. This just shows that no good deed goes unpunished. Next time you have trouble and need parts -please call some one else.
I noticed that you threw in the word "free" in describing what shawbran was looking for in technical assistance. It has been my experience that you tend to learn alot about a person's motivations by listening and analyzing content and delivery. (you could have just as well said" looking for technical assistance on a product I have never dealt with". I recieved correspondence from you  when you purchased this company and instantly summed you up as one who may be out for the quick buck as the only thing you "offered was a water test at $25 a pop. Obviously you went through the mailing list to try to make some easy money. The fact that you responded the way you did in telling shawbran to find someone else, when he has trouble or needs parts...shows you are just a bit arrogant.(plenty of knowledgeable people to talk shop besides you). Many of us on here are too busy that we will look for easy answers first, by looking here to see if anyone else has had the same problem. (in reality-alot of us probably know what the answer to a problem is, but are hoping we missed something obvious....and easier to fix). It rarely works out that way, though.I would think, since you bought the company, that you would have gotten the rights to this unit as well, especially since I can still find reference to it with your company name , online. This unit works but it remains to be seen how long it lasts. Can be finicky at times, but it is not rocket science. Furthermore, there are a ton of other suppliers for parts and good down-home assistance. freeheat4u will talk yer leg off with assistance and get you hooked up with any parts at a reasonable price. Good luck, CVR, on reinventing the wheel.
