Electronics / Re: ???? on temp
« on: February 14, 2016, 05:31:16 PM »
Try bumping your on off temps to 180 off and 170 on and see what happens. Thats where mine is set. Seems to be perfect for me. Every set up is somewhat different i guess.

Wouldnt the circulating from the pump keep the water from freezing? Assuming the power doesnt go out? If you did a 50/50 mix like on a vehicle thats a ton of antifreeze!!

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: 1" to 3/4" at DHW exchanger

Mine has 1 inch on the plate exchanger. I had to use a 1 inch to 3/4 adapter for drinking water side.

(By the way what does "Ayuh" mean Bondo?)

i guess what Im asking is what makes the 10 more restrictive? I havent seen the inside of one. It just seems like a 10 vs a 30 the 30 would have hotter water not be more restrictive.

Plumbing / 10 Plate Vs 30 Plate Exchanger for Drinking water
« on: December 23, 2015, 12:34:52 PM »
I had a 10 plate exchanger with around 100 feet of total 1 inch pex. I just recently installed a taco 077. From what I understood I needed to upgrade to a 30 plate because the 10 was too restrictive? I installed 30 plate now my water instead of being 121 at the faucet is 1 million degrees. Will someone please help me understand why I spent 135 dollars on a 30 plate when my 10 plate was working just fine.

For whatever reason my furance came with a broedger. Yes i got the 5x12 30 plate. Im loving the energy usage difference  I should of done this along time ago. Between my hot tub pump and my furnance pump and fan I could easily run them from a deep cycle battery and an inverter if power goes out.

Killawatt monitor shows 007 at 78 watts compared to the 252 I was running with brodger. This pump will pay for it self in one season. I saw a 2 degree loss at vent in the kitchen heat wise 102-100 and around a 10 degree loss with hot water from 129 to 119 ish. The 10 plate is going away soon being replaced with a 30 plate by end of the week. I dont have a mixing valve. Super happy with the taco so far

Yeah 21 a month doesnt seem like much but when my normal bill is 85 dollars 21 just for the pump is outrageous. Now when im heating with my house with it and hot water. It evens out a little better. Im hoping this 007 uses close to a third of the old pump energy wise.

It lives!!! I think there was an air bubble inside pump everything works. When I install 30 plate Im sure it will work much better I will try to get rid of a few 90's I have in the system. This 007 pump is brand new so im trying to keep it. I know I could of gone with a bigger pump I had a bigger pump... I want low poer consumption. My old pump was insane used 6kw a day I would of been better off useing electric water heater than that thing. Thanks for the responses. This is my third season with furnance.
