Hi All   From Lakes Region, we go from needing air conditioning on to 46 degrees here this morning.  We need rain badly, can't wait gardens and lawn looking a little dry.  Also looking on how the new Edge Boilers are working, kicking the tires, but afraid to pull the trigger till  I hear some more experiences. Anything happening?

Central Boiler / temp reading from fire box
« on: January 22, 2018, 10:56:12 AM »
Hi all    Have e-2400 and I'm getting high reading on my fire chamber.  1800 to 2500 is there a second sensor someplace I'm missing or do the sensors go bad  I did find a bunch of creosote burning in one corner (front), but not sure that is the problem.  You really don't want to open the door at 1800 degrees  Water temp. is just fine between 185 and 195 ,which I run at.  Cleaned out all the ash, not sure what the problem.  Looking for a second sensor??????  Any ideas  Trailmaster  Thanks

Central Boiler / leak on pri air intack e 2400
« on: December 22, 2017, 07:23:38 AM »
Hi all   I changed out my primary air intake elbow and while cleaning found a little water in with soft creosote.  Boiler is 6 years old and have watched my water condition very carefully.   Question, can you use boiler seal or is that a no no?  My water level is staying on the mark, however all leaks get bigger not smaller, thoughts.    Thanks to all

Central Boiler / CB prim. air intake
« on: March 06, 2017, 04:49:12 AM »
My E-2400 is in the fifth season with only a few problems, however I've just ordered the primary air intake elbow.  The present unit has rotted away and developed a hole in the bottom, which I put tape on to control air intake.  Anyone else have this problem, I'm assuming this is from the repeated creosote  build up which I clean once a month..  Thank you

Central Boiler / electrical problem 0n my E-2400 Central Boiler
« on: January 05, 2017, 02:43:05 PM »
Hope this helps someone else.  My CB 2400 died at midnight yesterday, barrel fuse burned out, replaced, and you guessed it, gone again.
In the am contacted CB dealer, who sent me a trouble shoot sheet, (5) pages, which made it so much easier.  Turned out to be my 110 volt/24 volt transformer.
An OHM meeter a must, but for $25 for the part, and help from my CB dealer, back in business. Had my boiler for five years, my elect. said, " not uncommon for transformers like this to burn out".  Thank you the Central Boiler Dealer in Ossippee NH.

Equipment / value of old, cost of new
« on: January 04, 2015, 05:01:50 AM »
Happy New Year to all    My neighbor has a 4 year old E-1400, not big enough for his old farm house.   Would like to replace with a new E-2400.  The question, what is the value of a 1400 and what is cost of the 2400????  He can do the all the work of changing over, just the raw costs.  Thank You

Equipment / adjusting log lift
« on: October 12, 2014, 05:07:01 AM »
Need some advice.  Have a TW-3 hd with log lift and an adjustable wedge.  This unit is sweet, however using the log lift to quickly can kill the tractor engine.  I'm thinking this is just an adjustment of the valve any suggestions?  Maybe someone has had the same issue.  Thank you all

Fire Wood / length of wood
« on: September 26, 2014, 04:45:12 PM »
My friend is trying to use all 4 foot wood in his boiler.  The trouble, it so heavy that the wood , oak, maple, and beach, must be split small so he and his wife can handle.   I suggest 2 foot and split into chunks.  A lot easier    any thoughts   both over 70 years
