Is there a percentage you can use to size a tank? If you have 400 gallons of water, 10 percent = 40 gallon tank?

Check Amtrol's website, they make a pretty cut and dried list for XT sizing. Depending on the emitters and temp range, the tanks might end up much smaller than you think. For example, a 200k BTU system using CI radiators would be fine with a 14 gallon XT. A 30,000 sq ft radiant floor (276 gallons) would use a 10 gallon XT. Typical residential systems would never need more than a 2 gallon tank but that's of course going to be specific to each particular scenario

you have a pressurized/sealed system with 400 gallons in it?

I have my 330 gallon storage tank in my basement.
