Im getting a owb!
« on: January 26, 2012, 12:05:50 AM »

I've been wanting 1 for a year now and just couldn't drop 7-10k on a new one because I just heat with woodstove with a heat pump for  back up so the cost savings just weren't going to be significant. Well a guy local to me had a prosteel model 200 heating his 3000sqft home and dhw and he has a bad back and is moving so he  wanted to sell the stove. It's 7years old and I am getting everything that is connected to the stove, pump, pex, valves, fittings , 2 heat exchangers with 1 being a custom mounted unit with a fan that is installed in his attic with ducts coming out like  a octopus to heat his upstairs. Heck I even got his 22ton brave log splitter with a new motor on it. Will be able to get it all when his new house has the power connected in the next 2 weeks. I will really be reading and researching install info to get the stove ready for next year at my house. Thanks for the great site and all the info.  Jonesy

Not sure who made it exactly. The name plate says PROSTEEL model 200 made in winkler MB, Canada. It looks similar and has the same features as the global hydronics, has heat exchange tubes running across the top and has a flue damper rod. The owner said it came in mild steel which is what this one is or for like 1000$ more it could be stainless. Found out my father-in-laws boss has the exact same stove and he has had his for 8 years completly trouble free! Will get some pictures when I get it.

Hmmm...  Winkler Manitoba is where heatmaster is made.   Might have been something they were playing around with at the time.

Will be picking up my stove this sunday! ;D got a  backhoe lined up to set it on the car trailer. I will take a sawzall to just cut the lines to make removal fast as all the lines are copper crimped.

Congrats bajonsey! That boiler has to be related to one of the larger name brands. I'll bet Scott7 or RSI can ID it. Good luck and have fun!

If that is a heatmaster then the owb world just got a lot smaller because that stove is exactly the same as my global/hawken.
