I see some people REALLY like to cut and split wood. Just because you're burning wood doesn't mean there isn't a price to be paid for keeping temps high. I don't know how anyone could stand it above 74.

My programmable stat is set for 66 at night and 68 during the day. I bump it up to 70 during the day if the sun isn't out much and the gas fireplace is nice to make the family room cozy. The shed is kept at 50 which usually overshoots to about 53 at the end of a cycle.

I'll probably go through 13 plus full cord of hardwood this year and I don't need to be cutting even more if I were to crank up the t-stat.

It is a small price to pay to be able to sit around in you underware comfortably.

Us boiler guys might have a age issue . Older you get warmer you like it . I know people in there 80's like it 76f .
I grow up with indoor stove house was always 80f during a cold snap . I still shake my head how My dad fire hell out of
that indoor stove . He even had 2 inside wood boilers one in house and one in garage for a few years yes all hooked together .
baseboard all over in the house . and yes pressurized running about 4-11 psi . 180f  one in garage had fan draft. I was getting sick of cleaning chimneys ( this was big issue running to cool )
so I got outdoor boiler soon as I could afford it. so we wouldn't burn house down LOL or blow boiler water all over the house .
So lets say I was per conditioned to have a nice warm house in the winter .

Some might call it a dysfunction LOL

Still cheaper then going on winter vacation.

Depends a lot on the heating system I think. My house is forced air and 70 is the absolute highest I can sleep in, but lounging on the couch I could handle 73-74 probably. Then again my shop is in-floor and 70 is sweaty hot while sitting in a chair drinking beers. 55-60 is perfect when working on something and moving around. Accidentally left the stat cranked overnight awhile ago while making some adjustments and came out to a 77 degree shop and an empty boiler. Almost choked, was instantly sweating. Have a customer that keeps his office 80 with in-floor, absolutely no idea how he can stand it.

Side note though, what are you heating to be able to shove 13 cord through a G200??

I'm only going to burn about 11 cord of oak  slabsbuildings 50-76f
6600 sqft heating 1976 and 1991 houses . There not what you call super insulated. Everything needs a good insulation crack filling .
Shop and garage needs new garage door seals also . And my one house is held at 76f 28x48 ft.

I'm guessing your size and mine are close heat550. I'm close to 7000 sq. ft. plus DHW. Wish I only burned 3 cord a year but then I don't do fake news like liberals and the socialist media.
