That's a great stove......My father has the same one and he's in his 10th heating season.

What year and are you open to reasonable offers?

I bought the A.W Perkins 360 Hearth Country Firewood Moisture Meter BIG AL recommended. Looks like it will work fine and its easy to use.

It was 70 here this past Saturday. Mid 60's this week, lows in the 50's. Not looking like temps will be dropping until late next week.

Low wood usage this year I guess

Where is here?

I'm not gonna bother calling them for any  problems if I have any I'll fix it myself. I'm not about to haul my stove 250 miles for them to screw it  up worse. I'm not even bothering to sending  in any water samples.

I dont blame you automan77. I had a Ridgewood, glad i sold it (the guy that bought it, loves it). I bought a Hawken and they went bankrupt. Now they are pushing "support" by selling their parts and testing water (in order to sell treatment). Its easier for me to test my water myself..............because there is no longer a warranty.

Fire Wood / Re: semi loads of wood.

Clicked on this thread to find out about "semi loads of wood" and instead learned about favorite saws, bars, and chain maintenance. Great........but anyway here in Michigan,  a 20 cord semi load of logs yields about 55 face cord.

"Usually a temp of 180 will give a temp of 150 inside"
"I filled up the water line outside"

I see a problem with a 30 degree drop in water temp......even giving or taking 5 degrees. Also I don't understand the filling of a water line?  I'd say your pump is bad or your air locked.

We are half way through November and we haven't even had a frost yet. At least none where I live.

It might help to have your location in your profile. (For all we know you might live in Florida.)

Darn it, I'll miss thier newsletter! Once in a while they had a good joke to make me smile.
Whats going on with this company????????? It went up for auction this past summer and bankruptcy?

But recently I've been getting emails (no jokes included) from HawkenSupport.com   They are pushing their water treatment and parts. Even talk of warranty of stoves.

Website is still up but FB page is gone. Anyone???????

Wood Doctor / Water Treatment
« on: November 12, 2016, 05:56:08 AM »
Going back quite away but does anyone remember the powdered boiler treatment that Wood Doctor sold for their boiler plate stoves?

My question is.....what was the yellow paper like test strip included with each bottle? What type of material or what exactly was it?

Hawken Energy is out of business!

Owners, what are your thoughts?

My stove is only a year old and I thought they would still be in the game after they added their EPA compliant line of stoves. I'd like to say I'm pissed off but I kind of expected something like this to happen. Especially after being a Wood Doctor owner. In other words, I bought the stove for the stove and never figured the warranty in whatsoever.

I'm curious as to what caused Hawken's demise?  I see the company was up for auction back in June. I'm wondering if anyone acquired it as a whole or if it was parted out?

They defiantly talked a good game.

It looks like the 275G is sold.

If it is.....Mark your original title post "sold"  and for what price          That way we know and it also helps others to know the market price

...OR DONT
