Triple bypass question
« on: September 13, 2014, 07:29:07 PM »

Cleaned my triple bypass today. Is it normal to have a lot of ash in the first one. No easy way to do this that I know of. Ended up using shop vac with flexible hose. About a 1/2 inch of real fine ash. Hadn't cleaned the 1st bypass since I put it in operation a year ago.

What do you have for a boiler? DO NOT leave ash in your unit over the summer, the ash will collect any moisture out of the air and destroy your boiler way ahead of it's time!

As long as its just ash you are fine. You should clean out the top 2 every month or so. I never clean the bottom one unless its really full of ash, its larger so its going to collect ash more quickly.

I check my lower bypass about monthly.  My upper even less.  It's always powder.

Thanks guys. It was more of a powder. Never had cleaned that section since it wasn't easy to get to. All is good.
