General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Heating a concrete floor
« on: August 21, 2022, 12:08:02 PM »
I have a 24x48 garage with in floor heat. It was never hooked up by the previous owner. the lines from the boiler are there.
I run my boiler at 170-180 to heat the house and there is a heat exchanger which lowers the temp to 90. Do I need to install
a heat exchanger and tempering valve in the garage or can I run the 170-180 water directly in. I have a thermostat and a circulator pump already. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you

« on: July 10, 2018, 10:12:31 AM »
I have a Wood furnace and I cut my logs to 18 inches long. I have been leaving logs 6 inches and below whole and only splitting the larger sizes. Should I split the smaller sizes also?

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Need advice on water temperature settings
« on: January 08, 2015, 04:28:28 PM »
I have a Wood Doctor Outdoor Boiler that is being used to heat my home which has in floor ( radiant ) heating. The water temperature going through the house is 90 degrees F. I have the controls on the boiler set at 165 degree low limit with 5 degree offset and the high limit is 190 degrees. Are these settings correct for the type of heating I have? This is my first Winter in this home and my first experience with an outdoor wood boiler. Hope someone can help me out on this.
