Thermometer came in today

As the title says my thermometer came in and I hooked it up to the pex going into and out of the heat exchanger. I used aluminum tape and put the foam insulation back around it. Not sure how accurate of a reading I am getting through the pex but it looks like I am losing about 6 degrees from the stove to the htx and about 14 between incoming and outgoing with the blower running.
It's a Mavrick model ET 7 remote check

Do you have any copper you can put it on instead? Pex is going to give you a lower reading.
