Thought you guys might enjoy some pictures of a chip burner Heatmaster is testing. Burning chips out of a grinder so far, potential for all sorts of biomass. Heating two 12,000 sq ft shops (24,000 sq ft total), 24' tall. No blockages after several months burning, feed system seems to work very well. 500,000 btu.

Bin is not finished, sides are temporary metal. Uses four 2,000 CFM blowers with coils to heat the buildings.
This is all from waste wood they generate in the shops. Free heat!

Is this geared toward commercial use or will it work in a home too? Roger

Would be aimed toward commercial market. Very few homes would need that many btu's. I guess it could go residential at some point but cost would be a factor!

Would love to have a residential size of this. I would literally chip all my wood into my dump trailer and fill through a hopper I could load with my tractor. That I would love.

Not likely to see a low cost residential unit because scaling it down doesn't reduce the cost enough. All the expensive parts are pretty much same on a small or large unit.

I'm sure you're right, maybe I'll build one someday. Wonder how the coal boilers would do with a load of wood chips. I have more than I know what to do with.

Auger finally in place to feed straight off the grinder. 500,000 btu's 24 hrs a day, no more hand loading. So nice.

So this would be along the lines of an LEI or Peltor, like $35-$40k?

Depending on what you do for a bin I'd guess between 30-40K. If it were installeed in a warm location would eliminate the need for the insulated housing over the auger/feed system which would lower the total. In this case it was all outside.
I'm not real familiar with the models you mentioned. I've watched a few videos of the LEI unit and I think this one would handle rougher bigger fuel. But that's just a guess as I've never seen it up close.
