Title: plate exchanger cleaning?

Can any one advise on how to clean or where to have my plate exchangers cleaned.  I  have 2 for hot water heaters and one for my pool.

I use a small utility pump and vinegar.
Connect pump to plate, stick suction hose in gallon jug of vinegar and return hose from plate into jug. (I cut hole in jug for hose)
Run pump till vinegar is  as dark green as it will get and then dump and start new jug. When it quits coming out green it should be clean.

Usually takes about 3-5 gallons if really plugged.

"The Works" cleaner works great if you have a bad clog. But don't circulate too long. It's some hot stuff..

Really easy to do if you have purge/flushing T’s installed at the plate exchangers.

I use a puddle pump with a garden hose adapter on it and two short pieces of garden hose. I used to use washing machine hose but garden hose will flow more.

Place the puddle pump in the bucket, connect your hoses with the return in the bucket, dump in a gallon of cleaning vinegar and let circulate. If done yearly usually a gallon is plenty. I have two in my basement, when done I add fresh water to the bucket and let the vinegar flow down the drain to the septic tank.
