My hot air outside unit
« on: October 09, 2012, 05:40:54 AM »

Hi all, I just wanted to share a few pics of the unit I put together a couple of years ago. It has been working like a charm. I have built a water loop to put in the firebox but haven't gotten around to installing it yet. Right now I only use it to heat my garage when I'm working in there. My goal is to install the loop and run it 40' to the house with insulated pex (I have that already) and through a modine which I scavenged off a demo job a few years back. I also have a Taco pump. It will be an open system with a small tank for storage. Anyway, on with the pics.

Very nice! Great job on creatively reusing that burner. I once considered this for my shop also until I dreamed up my boiler. It's nice to have all the smoke and dirt outside, I most definitely do not miss having a wood burner inside my shop.

thanks, yeah, my shop is too small as it is so this worked out nicely.  Plus I don't have to keep it burning full time.
