I've worked in a lot of houses doing electrical/heating and cooling and i've only seen one in 10 years.  It wasn't too noisy it had a thermostat mounted on an opposite wall.  The homeowners rarely used it though.   As far as the heat output I can't remember the wattage, 240 volt.

Your talking about one to use with the boiler correct?  Yes, they work well.  I had a guy install 4 - 5 in his home due to no duct work, it worked well, was really quiet.  However in his drafty farm house, it couldn't keep up on really windy winter nights.

Yes with a boiler, i see them rated from 2000 btu up to 9000btu, some with an on/ off switch some without. I would only like to do this once. Maybe i will order one and try it before i install it.

    Thanks

They do work well, however if you are concerned about noise or energy consumed you may want to look at a nice cast iron radiator, they are very nice to look at,heat like a wood stove, not hot enough to burn a child, don't take up a lot of space, dry your boots or wet jacket on it and use no extra power. There is a company here in Maine that recycles old ones out of the city, ceaned, painted and pressure checked, if you are interested PM me.
