Nice! I'd be interested if I didn't just buy my Bl. What is the price on the 200 and 400 slim?

Hi Slim

I'm not quite used to you making normal appearances on the HM site yet.....miss you over on the PM site......anyhow, I was wondering what do you thing prices of gassers will do given the EPA ruling on conventionals..........I was thinking/hoping they would come down.

thoughts?

I think Jwood is right, I don't see pricing coming down, there is a lot invested in the R+D through building the unit and then if the manufacturer wants to stay in business they have to set aside some of the profits for anything unforeseen in their designs that lead to warranty issues.
Perhaps there will be some knock offs of the stuff already being built that may be cheaper but I would keep in mind that those who have not been ahead of the curve with their own design probably do not have their heart in it like those on the forefront and are only there for the quick buck.
I don't see testing becoming less expensive, now it is mandated and only select labs can test, again big brother setting up monopolies and the consumer pays the price!
Thanks for the kind words Cando and remember, I'm still here to help regardless of who's name is on the boiler!

Got to thinking about it while loading ole smoky last night, on the G series if the induced draft fan is running while you have the door open and the bypass in the proper position you probably have no smoke in your face while loading?

That is one of the very nice features about it, the design of the bypass on the G series is by far the best that I have seen!

So I take it that either putting the rod into the bypass position or opening the door automatically turns the fan on?

Opening the bypass turns on the suction fan.

With the induced draft fan and little smoke from the loading door would the G200 be a good boiler to put in a shop?  Is there anything else about the boiler that would make you discourage running it in a shop?

It would be fine inside any building as long as fire hazard cautions are realized and followed

Slim, what are the upper limits of the G100? I know you probably hate using square footage as a guide but wondering if it would heat a well insulated 2000 sq ft house plus dhw. I realize your shooting from the hip without knowing more details.
Thanks

I have not run the G100 but would assume that it will be more than enough to satisfy your needs.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully it's at least a few years before I need to replace my unit but when I do Heatmaster will be strongly considered. Looks like a great boiler.
