eBay my friend.  Was brand new in box.  Even made sure the screws didn't have the paint scratched off them.  Looks to be genuine.

Central Boiler / Re: 0014 01 pump cartridge fail

I've seen them do that from steam rather than ice.  These pumps can't pump steam!  A co-worker of
Mine has a large model (forget the side) legend wood boiler and he was loosing a pump one a month.  Thank god for warranty.  After we did a little research we came to find that the water was turning to steam and the pump was burning up.  We added a larger inlet pipe 1-1/4" and turned down the water temp from 195 to 185.  So far so good.

Looks like RSI is a dealer about 60 miles or so to the south of me.  I'm going to check out his inventory in the spring.

One nice thing I like about the newer Grundfos pumps, is the simple electric hookups, no fartin around with wire nuts or anything.

Both the new broeder and Eltron pumps come this way as well.  The broeder even comes with the electrical cord and stress retainer preinstalled.  For 100 bucks I thought it was a decent deal seeing as my last broeder is still going after 2 years.  I really hope my next one does too when I get the garage loop installed.  I would have made a different decision if I would have known more about these things in the past.  Live and learn.

Let's hear those other brands!  I'm not about where the pump
Comes from, to me it doesn't matter as long as it works properly.  Only reason I bought that Eltron was because their company has good ratings in their other electronic departments.  I'm thinking I'm going to take your advise and return it and get something else.

That's weird seeing as they cost 3 times as much.  Eltron pumps are made in Europe along with their world class water heaters.  Hope I didn't get ripped off!

Well now I have one more to burn up.  The one on my stove came with it so I decided to run it.  It has been noisy since day one. It hasn't ever given up even with a 200 foot loop and 22 head feet.  Going to run the other broeder for the garage loop when that gets installed.  I was debating between that broeder or the badger since both are cheap.

Anything on the Eltron?  How are those pumps?  It was about twice the cost and some for that.  It is a 40gpm pump also.

I'm sure you're right, maybe I'll build one someday.  Wonder how the coal boilers would do with a load of wood chips.  I have more than I know what to do with.

Thanks mlappin

I see there is a dealer in Neshkoro Wisconsin.  Funny I've never known and been there a lot, I have some friends that live over that way.  I'll have to look a little closer next time.

What kind of silicone do you use?  It says in my manual that I can make homemade gaskets this way to make a better seal but NC never really says what to use.  I just figured as much I'd use the same stuff as I seal the stove with I guess.

I'll add that to my list of good things that I've heard.  My wife usually lets me purchase one new "toy" as she calls them every year during tax season for around 1000 dollars.  I think I've found my new tool... ahh I mean toy!  Thanks!

I think that tool is a crows foot that's what I would call it!

Exactly what I call it too.  Crows toe or crows foot

I know exactly what you are talking about schoppy, I just went through it myself with my 400, the hinges are difficult to adjust with the weight of the door on it! Because I'm such a life hack, here is my solution.
Start by wrapping a long ratchet strap through the door handle and completely around the boiler (use cardboard or rags to keep from scratching the paint with the metal portions of the stap) hook the ends of the strap together and loosely tighten the strap, place a small car scissor jack between the door and strap
( again use a softener) tighten the screw jack a bit so it will put pressure on the door inwards, now loosen the 4- 9/16 nuts that adjust the hinge side of the door, you should see the hinge adjustments move, unlatch the latch side and center the door on the jamb now take a few more turns on the screw jack, this will force the door onto the jamb, adjust your hinge and tighten them, dismantle the hack and move over to the latch side of the door. The latch side is a 3/4 inch acorn nut on each, loosen them and tap the bolts inward about 1/8 inch at a time, re tighten and try the latches, they should be tight enough to show some resistance without being hard to operate. With the doors all closed and the bypass open, fan operating you should not be able to hear any leakage around the door gasket. You will still have some residual liquid in the gasket that will drip out when the door is operated but it will subside and dry up after using the door a few times. The guys at the office can get you some spray bombs of the original color or if I have a chance perhaps I can find the paint color codes that I got from NAPA to paint  the bus, it is an almost perfect match, best of luck and let us know how you make out!

It's really too bad there aren't any dealers around the Wisconsin area like you slim. Me and my family including my in laws would all have purchased through you.  We have absolutely zero dealer support around here. I can't even get a phone call returned.  When I bought my stove a couple years back I was promised 24-7/365 service (not free obviously but incase of emergency I'd have someone to fall back on) but now since the EPA has Stepped in I don't even get a phone call back yet alone an answer on a Wednesday at 11am.
