Honestly guys and gals, I have the greatest job a man can have. If you ever watched his shows you know what I mean, he traveled to some strange places and met some very strange and interesting people. I have thought for a long time how much I would enjoy allowing others to know what I have done in the past and what I am doing now, I would like to hear your stories as well. What do you think?

Last night my wife and I watched the local public television station to see the tribute to our Veterans, it was a nicely put together tribute and we reflected on the sacrifices that our brave men and women have made in order to secure our liberties here in this nation as well as many others in foreign lands. If you happen to be a Veteran, I would like to THANK YOU for your service, my LIBERTY means everything to me and I THANK YOU for it.
That being said, with all the news lately of how our Vets are being treated in the VA, the one thing I saw that was very disturbing to me was the presence of Harry Reid at the ceremony, does the man have no conscience at all, I can think of no one person who has done more to harm the military men and women of our nation than he, The military when I did my short stint in the Army national guard during the Reagan years was a proud place to be, it was a leg up to those of us looking for a better life than our parents could afford to give us, we were offered further education, low interest loans for homes etc. as well as a stable environment that some of us including me did not enjoy at home, the stability in the Army did a world of good for me, I don't think I would be the man I am today without that pride I felt back then, I know I am not alone with those sentiments, I THANK YOU AGAIN VETERANS as well as the US MILITARY for those wonderful benefits, as far as Harry Reid and John McCain, you get ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT FROM ME. Be safe folks and enjoy your LIBERTY for as long as we can hold onto it, have a great weekend.

After a great show in Essex Jct. Vt.2 weeks ago and an even better show in Richmond, Va last weekend, today I picked up the chip boiler that I used to pass EPA 2 years ago from a dealer that was showing it and had no sales, my goal was to bring it home from Ohio to Maine and clean it up for resale, I made a few phone calls on the way across the southern tier expressway, old rt.17 in NY and before I got to Binghamton NY the boiler was sold, I dropped it off at it's new home 30 miles north of Binghamton. DEALERS GET READY FOR A VERY BUSY YEAR!!!!!!

Thank you again Neal for the idea of this new thread, I would also like to thank you Roger who started the thread about Summertime Blues, it all blends together in a moment. I would like to start a thread that lasts for many years where we can all talk about our background, a bit about what the boiler replaces in oil, gas, coal and electricity as well as the added comfort that our boiler gives us in our own home. I would like it to be a conversation that will stand the test of time to promote this INDUSTRY and not a particular company, only the concept of burning wood inside, or outside,Brand names would be fine but could we please not make it a pissin contest about the best boiler. Make it a true story of your encounter with the wood burning philosophy. Give us your true payback time in real dollars as well as emotions!!!!

Brian and I are leaving Maine today, headed for the Logging Expo at the fairgrounds in Richmond, Virginia, this was a last minute addition to our scheduled shows for the year, anybody interested in coming out to see the show or having me stop by on my return leg can PM or E-Mail me, lots of great toys will be on display for all to see, we are shipping down a B-L series to burn at the show. We will be selling that unit after the show with a discount for the lucky guy that hauls it away, great chance to see it before you buy it AND get it discounted, I really don't want to haul it home! We also will be burning my chip boiler and I would not be opposed to selling it at the show, better fuel mileage on the way home.

Portage & Main / Apology for being offline
« on: May 11, 2014, 05:08:07 AM »
If I have missed anybody in the past week, I do apologize, please understand that this show in Vermont is a big show for us, I have been extremely busy with preparing for it and have not had much time for the Forum. For those of you in the Richmond VA. area we are going to make a call today to try to get into the loggers Expo in Richmond this coming weekend, if that happens it will be very busy there as well, I will do my best to keep in touch.

A very light rain just started about 20 minutes ago, two different pours of the concrete happened many years ago around my OWB, one section is the oldest pour and the newest is maybe 5 years old, why is the older potion very wet on the surface and the newer portion appears to be dry on the surface. I'm sorry guys but it's one of those things that baffle me as the crete is supposed to be the same mix and IS from the same crete company, just thinking, I know I shouldn't do that but anyway it happened tonight.

Electronics / ATT shout out
« on: April 27, 2014, 07:55:36 AM »
I went to the ATT store here in Saco Maine yesterday for warranty on my Belkin keyboard for my I pad, I was very pleasantly surprised that they simply changed it out at no cost to me, they also exchanged a new earbud that was not holding a charge, no charge, they also looked up why my data usage was so high, my wife has been bugging me about this, low and behold it was not me but the kid that is also on our plan, wait till i get a hold of him! Bottom line, thanks ATT, great customer service

We are now trying to plan our trip home, so far this is what I have come up with for a route, 95 north to 26 north and west, I will be making a stop in Asheville NC, I think there was somebody on here as well in that area that wanted me to stop by, then from there I would like to stop in Columbia KY to see a friend and old customer, this would mean 40 north to 81 south to 75 north and then 80 west in London KY for about an hour, we will need to bring our own beverages as it's a dry county, I think there was another person interested in our boilers in that area that wanted to see us, then from there up to Scotts for another visit to see his stove build and get him to hold my hand with posting pictures of our install, anybody interested in seeing us along this route please speak up and send me you contact info along with an address, I have gps so I should not get lost, Georgia and West Virginia are my only real concerns and that really should not be to much trouble, I think they have come a long way since they shot the movie deliverance

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Electric toilet plunger
« on: April 12, 2014, 12:40:12 PM »
We got home from the job after 4-20 in the afternoon and were greeted by a new neighbor, he came over to our room for a beer( no I'm not gay although I don't care if you are) and fairly soon we all got into some pretty DEEP thoughts, the conversation migrated to how much fun it is to screw with people's minds without them realizing it and at the same time doing it with no harm. This guest recalled a guy that exhibited at quite a few flea markets and community yard sales for a little extra Dollars in cash, probably for mind altering substances, so anyway, this guy decided it would be fun to drill a 1/4 inch hole in the handle of a wooden handled toilet plunger, he then took an ordinary cord off a junk appliance and cut the cord so as the plug was still factory, then taped the cut end so as to not allow for a short, he then inserted the cord into the wooden plunger handle and sealed it up so the cord would not come out, he then put it with the rest of the crap he had on his table, I think we can safely assume it gained him lot's of very interesting conversations, wait till you see what I will be showing at my shows this year as I have pondered this for a few days now and have the ball in motion
