Okay, I have mixed emotions with spring finally here. I love the warmer weather, I'm able to get a lot of yard work done. But, those darned little black flies are atrocious this year. Thursday evening was clearing an old fence from a neighbors field. I spent a bit over an hour working out there and there were times when I thought the black flies were going to carry me away. I'm convinced I lost a unit of blood due to those dang thing! They should be pretty much gone in 2 or 3 weeks so they won't be around forever but it's going to be a long 2 or 3 weeks. Roger

Get yourself a mesh bug suit. I have no trouble working outside during black fly season with one of these on. They are also effective for mosquitoes and deer flies.

I use ounce dryer sheets tucked in my hat, they seem to stay of you but still are there.

Guess were lucky here in Indiana, might be a few of what you call black flies around, but not enough to be a nuisance.
Skeeters and deer flies though are a different story.
