I to have the MF 5000   Made in 2011 it sounds like the same door design I really don't see the need to get into the back of the stove very often  I open mine at start up look things over mid season and at end of burn season usually 6-7 months never have had any issues  I think this is a great stove  just my  opinion

1elvis I live sw mi got my mf 5000 last yr from Heatmaster dealer located 10 miles east of Grand Rapids Clarksville feed store is his business  he has everything u need I did a cash and carry very happy with unit built very well hope info helps u his #616-813-1041 I used around 10 cord last yr heating 3200sf & hot water good luck

Welcome dieseld first year with  MF 5000 love it heating 3200 sq ft and Dhw  one match started it in October been going ever since. I'm in sw MI  have used  9 cord of wood probably will use one more haven't had any issues  good luck on what ever u get

I have been a power lineman for 35 yrs  I wouldn't recommend it it unless there white cedar butts are treated top are not  generally all others have some kind of treatment  if there green definitely not (cca) some arsenic in older ones never have burnt any never will just my opinion!

First year with my heatmaster got a lot of excellent info off this site to do my install  like many have said don't short cut on Urd pipe i used rehau was 10.50 ft  one of the better purchases ihave made  got about 8600 invested good luck on what ever u decide seems to be about 6-8  pretty good performing owb on this site along with home fabricated if your that talented  and there are some very talented folks on this site  again good luck

I have 20 plate 5"x12 exchanger no cir pump no mixing water out of faucet unlimited at138 deg. Works great for my set up would use thermo mixing value if u have small children

Have cooked (smoked) two briskest  sirloins rib eyes in owb in last month use a cage made out of exspanded steel with handle to set on wood . Let temp get to 180 shut fan off let cook awhile turn over try to use cherry or hickory goin to try loin this weekend meat has had excellent flavor just another Benny of owb

Bought 6" x48" for my MF 5000  included band clamp #206148 from Amazon $138 with shipping 6" Id 8" od  got it in three days

Really like my MF 5000 had in door stove for 18yrs I think there's less work with owb aprox $8500 invested install done by me . I would definitely spend extra $ on Urd insulated Pipe rehau was 10.50 a ft . Good luck

Was burning junk wood with warmer temps, set 2 gal pail under ash door was getting gal of black water per week, now that temps dropped 11 degrees this am and burning good seasoned wood not a drop in this last week stove burning hotter and better wood eliminated drip problem for me

Got bright yellow stickers on my 5000 from factory on both supply and return outlets gotta think waters hoter at base of fire box than at top arrow on pump down towards house

I tend to agree with free heat about your wood your using I have a MF 5000 heating 3200 sf & dwh using seasoned oak ash & cherry set at 180 with 10 degree dif no issues at all load @6:00 am and 7:00 @ night stove is about 1/3 full of wood in evening just starting to get cold in mi. I would try to get some dry wood see what kind of differents it makes just my opinion my damper is also set at 50 %
