yup, it's in demand this year.  I know a lot of people ran out last year. I should be okay as long as we don't get hit like last winter plus some.

So, I am going to pick up a few slabwood bundles. They are 10 feet long and probably 3.5 feet in diameter. They are from a local Amish saw mill. I can get soft for $10 and hard for 20.  The Amish guy said that he wouldn't load a bundle in a half-ton truck anymore because he has seen too much stuff break.

Thoughts?  I know this has been discussed in a previous thread, but we may be talking 10 cords for $200!  I am between Big Rapids and Grand Rapids, MI. If anyone is interested I can tell you where the sawill is in Coral, MI.

We are new to this so don't have much experience but I have been putting my split wood along with slabs and so far no problems in fact working good but only been running a week so use my experience with caution

Guys here are raising their prices a bit. One friend of mine was getting $40/face cord last year  (not delivered price) and he went up to $45 for this year.

Matty, you really getting 8.5 cords out of a straight truck? If your paying 1200 for an 8.5 cord load that is nuts! I get about 7.5 cords out of my straight truck loads. Just got next years wood dropped off last week. $700.

Matty, I'm over in Canterbury, 30 mins from you! I haven't had any issues getting wood.
