General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / buffer tank
« on: July 04, 2014, 09:27:09 AM »
Looking for advice -
I am adding an 80 gallon buffer tank. Pipe from boiler to buffe will be 1.25 inches. Ports on buffer tank are only three quarter inch. Will there be a restriction problem? the tank is a hot water heater so there is no coil inside. Do you guys think this will work or do I need a tank with 1.25 inch. I really do not want to return this tank if I dont have to.

Luke

question for scott or slim

Do you think its possible for secondary burn in a indoor boiler[ DS Aqua gem 3200 ] Its a conventional boiler not gasser. im thinking something similar to the englander 28- 3200 sorry if model is wrong. DS comes with secondary air ports in back rear of boiler.I was thinking of trying to add pipe to the port holes and run pipes above the fire. what do you think??  please i would appreciate any ideas or comments

I have read that a couple of members have added fire brick to inside of boiler. i think 10-20% Purpose is to increase temp and cut down on creosote. I would love to hear experiences or opinions

Question for scott or slim. I have a DS aqua gem 3200 indoor wood boiler. From the factory, they have (3) air holes coming into the top area of the fire box. They call em the smoke after burners.Do you think if i add Stainless steal tubes to the inlet holes i could get the BLUE FLAME???? Just thinking…. epa wood stoves secondary looks pretty cool
2nd thought…. Are the temps inside the wood boiler not hot enough to achieve secondary burns????
