HeatMaster / Air Flow Issue
« on: November 29, 2020, 09:19:12 PM »
Just started up for the season and I’m not getting a good burn in the bottom chamber. It only gets going when the door is open. Damper is working fine, fan is good, but it doesn’t seem to have the same suction when opening the door.  Must have blockage somewhere I’m guessing, but I haven’t found anything. Any ideas??

HeatMaster / Low water switch
« on: October 31, 2019, 10:50:21 AM »
Low water light came on when I started up the furnace.  Water level is fine, and the light goes off when I bypass the switch, so I assume that I have a bad switch.  Has anyone swapped out (maybe just clean) the switch?  If so, where is it, and how do you do it?

HeatMaster / Sight Glass
« on: October 16, 2019, 07:48:20 AM »
Anybody have a good trick for cleaning the sight glass?  I know the new stoves have an upgrade, but mine needs a good cleaning and I haven't found anything that works so far.

HeatMaster / Adding a second exchanger...
« on: November 13, 2018, 07:39:21 AM »
My home is two stories with a basement.  I have two separate units heating my house, one in the basement, and one in the attic (2 stories away).  I currently have my heat exchanger in my basement unit which heats the majority of the house. I have the upstairs unit running with the fan only and it recirculates the air from downstairs to upstairs via the return air duct in the ceiling. This method is working ok, but doesn't provide for very even heat.  I was thinking of adding a second exchanger to the attic unit, but wasn't sure how far the pump would work without overstressing.  It would be about 25' vertical and 100' total loop added to my current loop which is about 80' total.  I know people run much longer loops, but not sure about the vertical run.  Any ideas?  Anyone else running this?  Thanks!

HeatMaster / End of season questions.
« on: March 15, 2018, 09:16:58 AM »
Just finishing my first season here in Arkansas with my G200.  We have loved it, but I have a few end of season q's.

1. Just started to hear a whistle from the door not being tight enough.  Should I adjust the door, replace the rope gasket, or just add more silicone around the seal on top of the existing?  This is my first season of use, so I wouldn't think it would need a new seal yet.

2. How clean do I need to get this thing for the summer?  Do I need to remove the curtains and try and scrape creosote, or just scape what I can and do a good clean of the ash in the firebox?  I've read everything on this forum, and I'm still not sure what Heatmaster would consider correct maintenance.

3. Anything else I need to do or check before shutting it down for the summer?

Thanks in advance.

HeatMaster / Damper % OFF
« on: January 08, 2018, 07:14:53 AM »
Noticed a few days ago that my control panel reads "Damper % OFF" all the time.  The damper is working fine, but the digital screen never changes.  Anyone have this problem??

HeatMaster / Phone Alarm?
« on: December 28, 2017, 07:01:43 AM »
Any word on HeatMaster getting some tech so that the alarm will be on your phone?  I had the blinking light this morning (coldest of the year) and we can not see it from our house.  It was just a bridge in the wood, but it would be nice to have an alarm that would wake you up.

HeatMaster / New G200 Member
« on: November 07, 2017, 01:01:37 PM »
Just wanted to say "Hey" to everyone.  I'm a new G200 owner after a lot of research (mainly from this board), and I've had it fired up for 10 days now with no problems.  I'm heating about 3600sf (1800sf basement) along with domestic hot water and a 600 gallon hot tub.  I installed my G200 in my basement walk-out which is completely underground.  I can walk out my basement door and load her up without having to travel too far outdoors.  Bringing wood down the stairs is a bit of a choir, but not having the furnace sitting out in the yard is worth it to me. The walk-out was always wasted space and it acts as a nice wind break and you would never notice the furnace if you didn't walk down a look for it.  I'm still nervous about making sure I'm doing everything correct as far as ash cleaning, coal beds, creosote, etc...  So far, the wife and kids are loving the heat.  Any tips for a new owner??  Anything you wished you had done from the beginning??  I love this outdoor furnace community and I really appreciate all the information that is shared here.  Thanks for having me.
