Electronics / Honeywell Multi stage stats
« on: July 25, 2010, 07:09:26 AM »
Hello,  Could someone that has experience with Honeywell multi-stage thermostats chime in.  I have read some posts wherein folks say they have used them to control the blowerfan on their existing HVAC system to distribute air from their add-on outdoor woodfurnace. They use one of the stages to control the blower when using the outdoor furnace. The other stages are used for HVAC Or another indoor furnace. How do you use the thermostat to control the blower with out having current, voltage, etc. leak or crossover to one of the other circuits ? Is there another component that is needed to isolate the circuits ? Thanks for any help, I know it is hot now, but oldman winter is a commin

Hello, I am considering purchasing a Woodmaster 4400, that being said, I am in need of how to wire a thermostat so as to control the existing HVAC blowerfan. I have an older modle Lennox HVAC system including inside back-up electric coil. My problem is , the old lennox wiring uses different color code, or the installer did'nt follow standard color wiring. I would appreciate any help. If I go to the blower and backtrack the wiring to the first relay or contactor, could I splice-in some sort of diodes or isolation relay, so that the blower could be controlled from a second thermostat? Thanks for any info . Sawdust
