Congratulations on the kill.  In our fine state of NH the only time we can take a doe is with either archery, muzzle loaders, youth day or the first couple of days of regular season, all other times you are only allowed to take antlered deer.  Good luck to the daughter.  Roger

Congratulations Coolidge, the guys that have been scoping out my back property haven't seen a thing since opening day, There has been a big buck out there all summer, one of the guys even got it on his trail cam.

No luck finding her a buck, but we both got to see something I have never seen before. We watched three does just lying in there beds for a good 45 minutes, daughter sneezed.

I no longer hunt (I don't have the patience for it) but it seems that the day before the hunting season begins you'll see deer everywhere but as soon as it starts, they disappear.   :-\

That's exactly right Roger I just said that to my wife last night I think their pattern of eating in the ditches and fields gets disrupted and then here we never see them really until spring, I think they just go find their wintering area and stay put.

Just need to find there wintering area, which in my case is on my property. I will start stockpiling food for them this week, last year I had 24 I was feeding, going through 100 pounds a day, they needed it and more. Anyone know where I can get a good deal on food, maybe a ton at a time.

And local feed mill would be your best bet buying bulk is the only way to go if you have a spot to store it and keep it dry.

Wow, that could get expensive.

I just bought 100 bushels of corn from a farmer straight out grain bin for $4.00 a bushel.   Bushel of corn is about 56 pounds, just in case you don't know already.

I had to take it in big bulk bags and was almost too much for my tractors fel.

Mine is for cow feed though, I do put some out for the deer right behind the house.

feed the wildlife here ...and  fish and game will have their way with you :-*  .......... or what ever u "were" feeding will want more for dinner  = you !
