Goes something like this--Be careful what you wish for. I wished for just a few nice cords of wood for X-mas. It wasn,t under the tree, but wow did I ever get the weather for it. Oh, but Iv'e got it all figured out for next year. Now that I've learned to be more humble, I'll wish for mild weather. Confucius said , a wise person will wish with compassion and consider those that may not have a wood furnace. Hmmm  :'(

Was reading the former posts. Don't know whether or not this would be of any consideration or not but, when I was installing the pex lines for my system earlier this fall, of course the lines had to be cut to length at each connection, at one point when I cut the pex line there was a lump or deposit of some kind of material kinda of like spackling compound in the line- I had to scrape it out to remove it. I  was quite concerned about it as I had no idea as to how much of it may be in the line. I passed it off as some byproduct of the manufacturing process. However I have had no problems so far. Just thought I would mention this.

Willy,   We have about the same situation here. My 4400 won't even melt the snow off of its own roof.  All I want for X-MAS is two front teeth and.....One cord each of , White Ash, Shaggy bark Hickory,Black Locust,White Oak, and, that partridge in my pear tree.  Sawdust

Sir,  I don't have a lot of experience with my 4400 WM yet, haven't had any problems.  Your furnace has to have access to air inorder to burn out of control. You say there is no leak through the door or auger. I am nort sure about the arrangement of the baffle rod, but it does seem to allow the stove to vent better. I would check into the possibility of  a malunction in that area.  Good Luck

I know it has only been a few days but, if the new furnace continues to function like it is now  I will be a very satisfied customer . I was concerned about how often the furnace  would have to be refilled. I know the season is young but, if the consumption dosen't increase a lot  the  burn rate will be fine.

Fired-up a new 4400  for the first time yesterday evening and, all I can say is WOW! In just under 45 min. you couldn't have wiped the smile off my face with a beach towel.  Loaded it up about 9:30 PM EST and checked it this mourning at 8ish, it looked as though I could have waited untill 12:00 today to refill it. Nice and toasty as the house was this morning, well I guess the wife will be selling the calf she had when I spent the money for it. Sometimes life takes a right turn. Gotta go wife just said Shhhew you are gonna  have to turn that down. Just wanna say , it sure is nice to experience the comfort some of you guys and gals have been enjoying.  Sawdust

Dirt slinger,   Thanks for the reply I tried it the way you suggested, fan started like it should. Some vibration initially but was remedied with small piece of rubber wedged between the two parts of the fan cover.

WoodMaster / 4400 component question
« on: October 20, 2010, 04:15:58 PM »
I have completed the install of a 4400. I haven't fired it yet, but when I turn the draft fan on I cannot hear it run. Should I hear it? Does the furnace have to be fired up to operating temp then drop the differential in temp before the fan will come on ? Thanks for any info

Is the E.T.C. included with the purchase of a Woodmaster furnace, or is it an  add-on purchase? Thanks
