There is an old thread about these plates. Has anyhow tried them yet, if so what pros and cons have you found with them? I called the dealer today about them. He told me not to get them because Hardy would void the warranty if they were used. My warranty is about up and was thinking about getting the plates to try but wanted some insight before I drop the $$$.

If Hardy offers the plates, then how can they "void" the warranty? Don't make any sense to me!

That's what I was wondering. He told me flat out if the plate was used then the warranty would be voided. He could be yanking me around but I dont know. Not that it matters to me because my warranty runs out soon but I was looking into these plates.

I don't have mine installed yet but I'm working on it. I bought a used H-4 made in 1996. I've looked inside and there are no efficiency plates on it either. I was looking at making  one of my own. It would have to help.

Let me know how you make out with this. Really dont want to buy one if they dont help any.

In my H2 (before it burned up LOL) I put a collar inside sticking down about 6 inches. I hooked it in with a piece of #9 wire to hold it and it did help. Not sure how much because I did not use it all season but I did get longer burns with it. My son in law has the H4 and it came with the plate, he says it helps but some times it gets knocked out of place and he has to put it back in place.

I tried to search for pictures of exactly where this plate goes but couldn't find anything. Where I am told they go it seems that there could be issues with build up and then clogging. He have any of these issues?
