Yep join the crowd, there are hundred just like you many of whom have took to the Internet voicing there displeasure, google "shaver problems" you'll see many stories just like yours.

They'll start out with promises and eventually go silent.

Sadly, from what I've seen when they go it's not a simple patch job.  But best of luck to you.

Sure, but all they have to say is you overheated your boiler....   I mean there is literally numerous loopholes

has anyone had good luck with there warranty  I read were one guy was brought another stove  and it leaked also do you think the owner has any idea what is happening

There was one guy on here who did get a boiler replaced but it seemed like it took forever, and then the next winter his new one started pouring.

I've seen a lot of pics and they'll be totally eat up, there is a whole pile of reasons that could be but stove design, low operating temp, and crap steel would be good places to start looking.

Yea just read back through here and on other forums, some people wait many months, or longer.  I'm not personally trying to knock them but simply say read around and you'll see.  How far do u live from them?

I had gotten a new stove after my first one rusted thru the bottom, but it wasnt easy.  They even let me upgrade to the 250 from the 165.   It lasted only 2 years,  I had to call about every day and most of the time they wouldn't call back.  Took all summer to get it done.  Then after I got the new one it had also sprung a leak in about the same spot only after a year. You wouldn't believe how much slag is in the bottom of the tank.  Tried to get them to do something about it but got tired of dealing with it and had a local welder fix it right.  I had all the water samples that were good but they kept saying something was corrosive in my water.

Contact your dealer for help. He should go to bat for you and help get things done.

Sometimes they pickup furnaces and take them back to the factory for repair! Not a scam!

2 weeks talked with them 3 times each time another excuse winter will be here  / I have no stove   now im thinking if they ever pick it up they may never bring it back before it freezes  /// if it freezes im sure my line will be frozen //   pretty sure they are the worst company I have ever dealt with   ///  hope everyone reads these post and never has to deal with these people

My dealer quit shortly after I bought mine so I was dealing with "Weldrite", Shaver directly.

A truck, trailer, squealing tires, a dukes of hazard style slide job into there parking lot, jump out like roscoe and raise some hell ..........

Well..  That was kind of a joke but not entirely, if you had the time and couldn't get no action showing up may help, at least you could confront them directly...   But then again I'd sure hate to load my stove up, drive 7 hours and still not get anything done

Bottom line, it's a horrible situation....   :bash:

I bit the bullet and had it fixed right by a local welder.  I did away with the inspection plate on top and made the vent come out the top.  I also ran the return lines to the front of the stove.
Title: Re: shaver warranty
Post by: yoderheating on September 27, 2013, 09:27:56 AM
The return lines moved forward and the moved vent would seem like they would help a lot.

if I have to do all that // there will be another stove in its place  guess I should of been on this site  along time ago  wouldn't be in this situation   /////   it wasn't the price that sold me //    I thot  it looked descent at the time   wow was I wrong

Rugerman, as I have posted here before, first I would send them the info on this thread as to make them aware of the conversations here about thier product, second I would try to be patient as most of the manufacturers are very busy right now with production, not saying that it's right but they are going to make production thier priority right now, Third I would contact them again and ask if in thier opinion you may have done something to avoid the problem, It is always easier to come to a compromise than to get immediate responses by yelling that thier product is a piece of crap, that will just get you hung up on and nobody will be in a hurry to help you, If you are truly in a hurry, I would suggest installing another brand with good references and follow the warranty, educate yourself before you buy.

Yes Rugerman I would not be at all happy, what does your local dealer have to say, I know that we have dropped a used boiler or two off to get our customers through until we got thiers repaired, that may be another avenue.

I've played that game with them. You need to call from a different number.

I don't know how that company continues to be able to sell products with all of the bad press online. When you search shaver on Google all you come up with is negative press about them.

Rugerman, When your furnace is repaired they will not load it on a truck and bring it to you by itself! They will wait until there is a full load to go first. That's just good business.
Hope you get your furnace soon. Where are you from? Did I hear you say the dealer you bought off of quit his dealership?

Hondaracer, that phone number that you called is a dealer in Wisconsin I believe. Some Randy person, I called myself one time and he answered as The International Representative of Shaver Furnace. He is just a dealer trying to say he is something he is not, he's just a dealer!

I had to call Weld Rite the Manufacturer of the Shaver Furnaces myself and complain about them not answering their phone, there are several lines.

If someone needs help send me a message.

Rugerman,

If your worried about your line freezing blow them out. You can also use a shop vac and suck the lines out, works really good!

Rugerman,

You said Weld Rite picked up your furnace on 9-30-13. I replied to your comment on 10-6-13. You mentioned me in a comment on 10-30-13. I offered help a couple of times. I had no reply from you.

I get a reply from you today, 11-18-13 and you go on about talking to a lawyer next week and you don't give me a chance to help you first. You just ignore my post and personnel messages until today.

Then you rant about them being liars and other comments. But did not once ask me for help! Good luck with the lawyer ::)

Seriously guys, come on.  He didnt buy his stove from Greg and shouldnt have to set out on a journey to find someone to help him, all he needs is for his situation to be taken care of by the folks he bought the unit from....

Hes obviously upset by all of this and I dont think it's necessary to poke at him and roll eyes because hes frustrated.  its ok that Greg offered to help, but I think we should all agree it shouldnt have to be a game of ring around the Rosie..

If you think the lines might freeze blow them out or use a shop vac and suck them out it works very good! If there is a little water left underground it should be OK!

Rugerman,

I'm happy you got your furnace back!

Was going to message you and saw you've gotten your furnace. I was told they replaced the bottom of the furnace? They told me it was going out Sat., did not want to tell you that and get your hopes up. Well I guess it went out as scheduled this time!!!!!!!!!??????

If they repaired anything else, I don't know the answer to that. If you want I can ask.
