I've got a Husqvarna 450 and it's a good saw. I think its the same thing as 2250 just different color

I actually tried that at first but the ash would clog up under the grate. I remove the brick in the bottom as well as the frame that holds them. That gives me a nice wide open area for the ash to fall through.
ok, thanks

The grate is nothing special. I just made an angle iron frame and put some expanded metal on it. Did it last year just to experiment with the intention of making something better but it worked well and held up pretty well so I just kept using it. I use a 3 prong weed hoe to "shake" the fire down from the top. Just have to be careful not to stir too much.
I guess you just laid it on top of the existing fire brick?

Is your 175 a coal? If not how does it burn coal well?

I have a 175 and it does great but wish I would've got the coal unit for sure. My brother and brother-in-law heat 2 houses with a 325 and have had good luck with theirs also. I would think your dealer will let you know what size you need.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Hot water heater
« on: May 21, 2014, 06:19:34 PM »
I'm building pressure in my hot water heater and it's blowing out of the pressure valve. The water heater I had before was doing the same thing. It never does it while I'm running my stove with the exchanger. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

I think it has to do a lot with what kind of wood you are burning.

I like the Husqvarna 450 it is lighter and really can't tell the difference in power than the 455.
