as you can tell the smart one joins and post, i am just the fabricator and welder
Well from my experiance the engineers can draw all the pictures they want, but I still have to build and make thier pipe dreams work!
The engineers anymore just tell me what they want to do ,and leave it all up to me.Works out better in the long run as they can never plan for all the unforseen problems.
You guys have an awesome start.Having cad drawings to work off of is nice.I had to make my own prints for my build, but they just turned into guidelines as I changed stuff on the fly all the time.
Now post pics for us to see!

Looks like a good plan.
I like the P&M extractor like you have copied into your design.Make sure it is easily accessed,as you will get a build up of ash in it I imagine.Which you will need to rake out every so often.
Yeah it doesn't take long till you have a behemoth of steel all welded together.
Oh and welcome to the site you guys!

It will burn it ,but with just shoveling it in loose you will use alot real fast.
The trick is to make it into pellets first then feeding it in.
I had thought of getting a pellet making machine ,and the pelleting my horses manure.
I know it has a high btu output.

Thats Awesome!
Glad to hear you have it running.Man it is nice to be heating your home with something you built.
Dont feel bad about burying your feed line.Mine hasn't got burried yet year.So it will be laying above ground for its second year ;)

She is running great so far.
I did modify the air feed tube in the burn chamber before the start of the season.I can't believe how much that helped it compared to last year.
I have been running since october ,and I have maybe used 2 cords or so.I haven't kept real good track like I had planned.Plus we have had lots of warm days.
I love how she just sips the wood, and also how she kept my family warm when the power was out for 3 days do to a bad,wet snow storm we got a couple weeks ago.
I do have some pics that need to be uploaded of some recent mods.

I am making a temporary hanging heater in my shop ,as I am not going to get my floor hooked up right now.I am using an fork truck radiator and then formed a square transition to the squirel cage fan that I mounted to the transition.I have made a pivot bracket to hang from that will mount on the wall.I have yet to get it finished ,but it is coming along.I will share some pics when I get it p and running.

I haven't decided yet on how i want to do it.There are pros and cons for either way.If I got a large tube exchanger I think it would work quite well.I just happen to have a large on to use. >:D
Oh well that is another project for another day right now.I imagine it will be awhile before i get to the point of installing the mass storage.

I agree that the efficient burns takes awhile to happen.I find that my furnace will not really start gasifing  until it has ran in bypass for a long time on a fresh restart.Takes a long time to get that brick heated up.
I planned that i could have my stove to start charging the mass storage ,and it would start burning efficiently fairly quickly.I feel that the stove would burn quite good going through a non stop cycle.I also think that I could get quite a few days of heat of a couple thousand gallons of hot water.
I still have to design the system like I want ,but I have a plan that just needs a few tweeks.
I think instead of several on and off burns and the time it takes to gasify during the regular cycles.I would just get a great burn with it running wide open for one long burn getting the maximum btu's out of the wood.
Thaks for thinking I can make it work.
I am just gonna have to mudle through it to make it work like everyone else does ;)

I agree the most efficient burn is when the stove is running full out.Now that being said I feel that if my gasifier is running full throttle I can use that burn cycle to heat my water storage up to my 180* set point. Then shut the boiler down and live off the heat from the mass storage for several days. Then re light and Burn a nice long clean burn to bring back up to heat the storage tank.
I can then also go away for the weekend ,and not be dependent of someone to come throw wood n the stove.Just like when I go to work and don't get home till 16 hrs later.I know that i dont have to worry about the temp being down in the boiler, and then having to get it back up before i go to bed.
I can see a great savings in wood being burnt.
Instead of a constant fire 24/7 I could burn perhaps 8 to 12/hours full bore and be burning clean.
Now this is just my guess for my situation.I feel this is what will work best for me.
Now I just need to find a couple of tanks >:D

Are you sure the solenoid is opening on the door to allow the draft to occur?Sounds like the fire must be going out or not getting enough air or a pluged stack. Are you burning seasoned or green wood?
