Electronics / Re: Thermostatic mixing valve
« on: January 10, 2017, 03:49:18 AM »
Thanks. My original one opened around that temperature. The replacement one I got isn't opening until 185 so my wood boiler is set at 180 and 190. I think I need to find one that opens up again at around 140 so I can set my wood boiler temps down and see if that saves me wood consumption. Go pack go!

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / graphene

Hi! We all seem to know how to keep the gas/oil man away, but can anyone produce this graphene material in an application for self sufficient electricity? This seems to be a big part of the future that we need to get a hand on right now. Check this "Graphene" out on the internet.

I think the colder the weather, the bigger the pieces. If you can "babysit your furnace" all day, use small pieces, rotate your ashes to the front and don't fill all the way up depending on your heat demand. This is what i do, but it is only my 2nd season.

Hi owb members! I just hooked our owb to our 24' above ground pool. I will post pics when i have time. Does anybody have a pool hooked up, and if so can you post pics of your lines, exchanger, t-stat, etc? Thanks in advance.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: Shut down OWF for the Season

I just shut down for the season. (Well, until I setup the above ground pool.) I decided to take off the top of the two stacks to check creosote build up. The amount was next to nothing. I'll leave this stack off and put the cover that came on the original opening on the top of the one stack.

Yeah, you'll love it. Especially when the propane man pulls in the driveway, and then pulls right back out.

So, Bull, If ky has his set at 155, then his will drop below 153 to recover sometimes. Oxygen occurs, attacking the metal. Or does it not matter because of corrosion inhibitor or that rod?

I thought I read on this website on a different forum that it wasn't good to have the water temp dip below 153 with the pump on because it introduces oxygen in the water?  Can anybody comment on this? Is it different on a pressurized system?
