Title: straighting 1 inch soft coil k copper 80 feet +
Post by: heat550 on November 07, 2017, 04:16:52 AM
Does anyone have any tips on easy way to get it straight I need to put it thru 80 feet of insulseal ( like 4 inch sewer pipe ) my first idea is 2 straight 2x6s with 2x4 across the top and slowly uncoil it
Straighter I can get it easyer to push it thru .. after I get it straight it gets that 1 inch copper insulation put on it before fishing thru insulseal 4 inch pipe. Insulation 2  reasons keep from damaging copper when sliding it thru and then just added insulation value . Im going to use electrical tape to secure thin copper insulation in place . My total insulation value with everything should be over R 20 . Any pointers on straighting would be highly appreciated. :bash:  :bag:

My roommate does refrigeration so I just asked him. Says he's never done 1", but with 7/8" ACR they have one guy stand on the end and the other guy just unroll it on the ground and walk on it while unrolling. Apparently it gets darn near perfect. Fishing it through that insulseal, I'd think if you taped the end good it'd glide right on through even if it wasn't perfectly straight
