Plate exchanger or side arm for domestic? Are you putting bypass loops on the water to air exchangers / primary secondary loops?  Either of those will stop any overheating in the shoulder months and still allow for domestic water heating.

Plate exchanger.  I am not familiar with bypass loop theory but create a schematic and I will make it happen.

See if this helps to understand how it all works, plate exchanger on left, main loop on right constantly circulates and each heat loop comes on with a call for heat, note keeping the supply and return on each heat loop close (less than 6 inches)  keeps the loop from ghost flowing,  The drawing will also need boiler trim such as expansion tank and water feed but this should give you the idea

I wanted to interject that the pictures of the diagrams are very helpful.... not only to the original poster but to other of us working on installations.

Thanks to slimjim and all of the "usual suspects" that are in the OWB business and are unsleflishly sharing with everyone.

Mono flo T, guess you do learn something new everyday. I like it though, a person could use a less expensive plate exchanger with smaller ports instead of having to size it not to cause any restrictions.

So would this be an acceptable design for my application?

Good start, I'm seeing lots of ball valves and no purge ports/drains, I'll PM you my #, give me a call and we can discuss placement.

Do you have anything for a forced air dhw only witha plate?
Something simple in lamens terms.
Pictures of the plumbing on the 2840, and in the house would be great.
Thanks

I'm not sure what you are asking for pops, are you wanting something with a single heat zone and domestic water with a plate exchanger?

Sounds about right. 1 forced air, and 1 hot water heater.
I want to do it right, but should be a simple set up with just the two heat sources.
