General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / ThermoPex
« on: February 18, 2010, 06:35:12 PM »
What do you all think about ThermoPex. There is different brands and different versions and the cost are all over the place. I am just wondering if it is worth the $11 per foot that you can pay for it versus putting you own together. Thanks.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / New member and needing help
« on: January 20, 2010, 07:42:09 AM »
Okay, i live in NC and grew up heating with an indoor wood stove until my wife and i bought a new house that has a gas pack. I thought i would give it a try but after two years of gas bills that i have no control over i am ready to fire the chainsaws back up. I am trying to put as much research in this as possible so i do this right the first time. It will definitely be something i put in place in the spring/summer and will be ready for next year. I have been looking into OWF's for about a month and am mostly interested in Hardy's and Central Boiler's.
A good friend of mine has an old Aqua Therm that is probably 20 years old that he no longer uses and has told me that i could have it cheap if i wanted it. It was working fine when he stopped using it and he still has his domestic water running through it, so i guess this would mean that it doesn't leak????? I know you don't never know until you try but does this sound like something that may be worth trying or is it way too old to even mess with? Thanks for any help and information.
