No one here believes that dirt makes a good insulator, do they?

In other words. Would any of you think it's a good idea to bury your heating lines in the ground with no insulation at all?

Equipment / New splitter

I know most of you will think I'm crazy, but I split about 99% of my wood by hand.

I enjoy the exercise, and it gives me a lot of stress relief, as long as my body holds up I'll keep swingin.

Anyway, I've been using regular mauls for years with normal results.

Lately, I've been reading about the Fiskars splitting mauls, and decided to order one to see if the hype was true.

Well it's better than I expected. Light, no vibration in the handle. Splits twice as good as any type of maul I've used. I actually look forward to using it....

If anybody else likes mauls...They're worth the extra few bucks.

It's probably been discussed before, but what kind of oil is generally used to treat the inside of the firebox for the summer season?

Hi everyone, my name's Josh.  I just joined up, and I still can't believe there is a forum just about OWB's.....

I guess there's one for everything...

 I have been building my own for a couple months now in my spare time. I am going to try and get some pictures posted.

Anyway, I wanted to introduce myself. I look forward to learning and sharing with all of you...
