« on: December 21, 2009, 01:13:32 PM »
I have not been on the site for a while and just noticed the other thread on insulating the bottom .. news to me.  I have a 2007 model Natures comfort and there was nothing about insulating the bottom!  I stuck my hand down there last night and it is a little warm!  so maybe next sulmmer I can put up some metal skirting but not at 20 degrees out .. so what have others done to insulate thier boilers?  any and all ideas welcome!

Natures Comfort / helping water mix better
« on: February 25, 2009, 07:59:21 AM »
Just wonder if this is possible or if anyone has tried this idea.  My OWB seems to be hotter in the front of the stove.  Water is pulled and returned to the back of the stove.  I do not know what the guts look like inside of the unit (NCB-175).  I was wondering if on my return .. I plan on moving it to the top of the boiler this summer and moving the pump to one of the bottom ports to give the pump more head pressure ..  if on the return port can I extend via a pipe inside the water jacket so the water dumps out more to the front of the unit?  Not sure I am explaining it very well ..

I saw a post on one of the threads about something called "aqua stack" (http://www.aquastack.com/)   unit that drops into the chimmney to reclaim some of the heat loss. Has anyone gotten one of these?  Just curiouse of how it works and if it is worth it?

Plumbing / larger pump
« on: February 02, 2009, 07:36:22 AM »
Ok .. brain picking time .. dreaming of summer and using the OWB to heat my swimming pool.  I picked up a HX and looks like I now will need a bigger pump.  My current run is 100' (200 total including return) to the house exchanger .. the pool will be an additional 100' making it a 200' (400 counting return).  My current pump is too small .. so I have been told to look for a taco 0013 or B&G PL36 ... is there any other brand comparable that I should keep my eye out for?  As everyone in these times I am looking for a deal!!

thanks,
Steve
