Any value to putting the foam pipe insulation around the pex inside the house? I have about a fifty foot run where it enters my basement till it gets to my plate exchanger. It is a full heated basement.

How many of you turned up your blower speeds after installing you exchangers? Since there I have my a coil and an exchanger should the blower speed be increased?

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Woodmaster 4400 aquastat setting

I have my settings on the boiler control set to 170 high with a 150 kick on setting. Why would they have the aquastat that is attached on the line just before it enters the exchanger on my furnace set to 85? Is that normal?

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Cleaning boiler w/vinegar

The house we purchased has a Wood Master 4400 and it has been drained to prevent freezing so it has been sitting empty for the last six months. A plan to refill it and maybe put a bottle of vinagar in it and circulate for and hour or so then redrain it and fill it. Does that sound like a good plan? It also has a heat exchanger for the hot water heater if that matters.

What are the pros and cons of having an aquastat vs a thermostat? I'm looking at maybe swapping out the aquastat for a thermostat and wanted to here your opinions.

Was over to the house we are buying and I was looking for the thermostat for the wood boiler and didn't see one. The one I did find a assumed was for the propane furnace. Don't these need a thermostat to function correctly? It is a WoodMaster 4400.

In the process of purchasing a house with a Woodmaster 4400. The unit has been drained to prevent freezing since no one is in the house. I noticed the baffle handle will not pull in and out. Anyone know how this works and what may be wrong? I plan on filling it with City water but wondered what you guys use for corrosion inhibitor? A web search brings  all kinds of magic products. Are there any preferences you like?
