Title: Hardy H5 to zone vavle and goodman heat pump
Post by: JOWEN on October 22, 2014, 08:08:20 AM
Im trying to finish the control wiring to and install the new t stat for my Hardy H5. The salesman that I purchased this from did'nt prvide me with the 90-340 relay, from hardy wire diagram it looks like this relay has to be present to control the zone valve and fan on my heat pump. Does any one have any ideas??

So after having a few hours after work to study the wiring diagram I think I have the solution. I pulled one three conductor wire out to boiler green goes to 7 on the circulator relay white goes to 8.Then a jumper wire goes  from 7 to one NO contact and red wire goes to 2 NO contact. Now I just got to figure out the tstat. I know that when the tstat calls for heat that the three way valve will open and fan on heat pump will run.

Can you post the wiring diagram? personally if I can't see it in picture form I have no idea what it is you are doing.

This is rough i know but this is what the circulaor pump relay looks like. The only wires that are on there now are at terminals 4 and 5 this is the mock up of what i think that will work. The problem is Hardy's wiring diagram in the manual they are using a second relay to do what i think can be done with the one set of contacts that are already there. I might be wrong about this. Ive got my sales man coming but its already getting a little cold in the house  the wife want it working now.

Sounds like it will work but I think you had better wait for your salesman, are you using this to control your circ as well?

yes thats from the factory the cir pump L2 wire comes out of at GFCI outlet and runs to contact 4 and comes from contact 5 and goes to the cir pump

Here is an update on the H5. I finally had some time between working at the power company and taking care of my wife and 2 year old to get the H5 finished. I ended up getting a second 24 vac relay and installing it in my heat pump. I wired it up just like in the manual and it works like a dream. I also had to re wire the circulator pump to run all the time so i would have hot water all the time. We are suppose to get our first frost on Saturday night so I'm excited to see it running.
On another note I have enjoyed this site I normally don't get involved on forums to much but there are tons of info in here for a beginner like myself.
