OK. We all know the frustrations we have went through with Obama's gas cans. They suck, we all know it, and we have spent our money to fix them. Now we have another Obama left over to fix, Turkey Cookers or any other LP appliance.
I got a new turkey cooker yesterday and it had this bullcrap on it that I had to reset every 15 minutes or it would shut off the gas and make the cooker go out. Needless to say, it has been fixed so it will run properly, but why did I have to waste my time doing this. I am not as stupid as Barrak Obama, so why do I have to waste my time fixing things designed to keep him from hurting himself? Someone as stupid as him, needs hurt.

Really, the gas cans suck for sure, even though they aren’t horrible for filling a weed eater or chainsaw, running five gallons out of it sucks though, I usually just take the top off and use a funnel in that case but this is the first I heard anything about turkey cookers.

Yep, I have maybe five or six jerry cans, whats hard to find is the big spouts for em.

Yes they are. I've been more than happy just to have the pop cap and vent on the their end. Simple and effective. I even like the easy pour for my small engines with the button on the end to start and stop fuel flow. Everything else really sucks imo. For my small tractors that hold more than 5 gallons I have resorted to the "race fuel" gas cans.

Nobody has found the retrofit kits at Mills Fleet? It's marketed as a "replacement spout" but comes with a new spout and barbed, push-in vent. Throw that old schnoozlepecker in the dumpster, drill a 1/2" hole in the back, pop the new vent into that hole, put the new spout on, and you now have a functional gas can again. The kits are like 9 bucks and work awesome

So happy to have some old ones in good condition. All of the newer fuel containers have a coreless shrader valve on the backend for ventilation, works great.

I started buying Eagle Safety cans. They're metal with a spring loaded metal cap with a gasket and a funnel you put on the spout to pour them. They meet all of the same standards but pour like a regular can should. They also hold up better to abuse than a plastic can and if you store fuel, metal doesn't allow the fuel to degrade as quickly as porous plastic does. With the gasket cap and metal construction, I have no issue transporting gasoline in my station wagon's trunk area because nothing leaks or smells up my car. Also, they're made in the USA.

Get out of here, I ran away from home when I was 14 in one of those things, that would have been about 1976 I think, by God if you still have one of those vintage units then I should have charged you more money for that Logstor a few years ago.

Well, it IS a station wagon. 2004 Volvo XC70. AWD, fast, and has 11" of ground clearance, but it's still a wagon at the end of the day.

Those are good cars, whenever my wife has service done on her car they give her one of those for the day.
One time they gave her a loaner S60 with three miles on it, dam thing never made it back to the dealer without buying it. Had to have a talk with service, told them to give her the biggest POS they had.

I quit taking it to the dealership a couple years ago, but when I did they'd usually slip me into a S80. You know, the BIG sedan with all of the bells and whistles. We used to have a XC90 (big SUV) but my wife wanted a Suburban again for more cargo room so we sold it and got a Suburban.
278k miles on the XC70 so far. When it dies or I wreck it, I will probably buy another. I've taken it on rock trails that older Land Cruisers were having trouble on, with real snow tires it goes through snow higher than the hood without issue and way better than any 4x4 I've ever owned, it corners extremely well, and it's relatively fast for passing slow people on back roads. 3500# tow capacity and tons of interior space. I've brought home water heaters inside of it and even hauled a 9' kayak inside of the wagon since the front passenger seat also folds flat. It's built solidly and rides like the luxury vehicle it really is.
Subaru also makes wagons. I think VW/Audi still make a wagon version of the Passat, too.

Wife’s cousin had one of the high end Volvo SUV’s in England, was really impressed with it, much better than the old box on wheels Volvo’s. He kinda hated it though, as it did that shut the engine off thing at every stop.

Got a new F-150 and the dealer tried to sell me one of those that shut off at every stop. No way I'm replacing starters every 30K.

They don't use the starters for that stoplight shutoff garbage. It's more of a centrifugal deal like a golf cart. I don't like the idea either way though, still seems like trouble
