General Discussion / Re: Woo who ! He's in , smoke'm if u got'em !

Billions for a wall.  I can't wait to see all the American people out in the fields picking crops for piece work or minimum wage. Maybe that's where all the high paying jobs will go. We're cheap and the first time you pay a dollar more for a pint of strawberries the wall will be torn down, let alone one of trumps "non bankrupt businesses.  Sheople walk this way.........

We had crap for candidates but to hear people put this much faith in one person is crazy.  When it all blows up I'm sure it will be someone's else fault. Not the American people who can't find decent candidates for either party.

I'd like to say in three years, wow I was really wrong. Trump got elected so I guess anything is possible........

Lots of talk about rule changes overnight. It's not an easy process like some sheep like to believe. I'll put my money on by the time any change would work its way through the system/courts it'll either be someone's second term or someone else's first.

Has anyone ever seen a major political party, such as the democrats, become so unglued at the results of an election?  It's mind boggling the things that are being said and done due to the election!  They must have been convinced that everyone so loved Hillary that they have lost their minds now that Trump will take over the reigns!  Roger

I haven't seen it but I do believe with all this "it's a rigged election" talk it would have been the same if the dems won.

Guess I'm the minority. I think the people who lost the election were the American people. Over 300 million people and theses two knuckleheads were the best we could do. I was prepared and still am that whoever got elected not much will change. More rhetoric, blame and fear.  Four years isn't a long time to make changes.

My uneducated opinion is in four years we really won't be better off.  Ill put my success or failure in my own hands, not the governments.

I think I'm good for the year.  Twenty five cord in the front yard, five on pallets ready to be forked over, five by the burner and fifteen in the back.

The knowledgable people on this site steered me to the correct install so I have an exchanger.

I have oo7 on the oil furnace and then a grundfos circulator pumping water through the oil furnace 24/7 back to the heat exchanger.  Oil burner circ only comes on when there is a call for heat.  If only one zone is open with oil burner circ running it doesn't do it. It only happens when both zones are open and one closes,  then bang.

Chestnut and red oaks have a high moisture content. Green I cut two years ago wasn't suitable to burn this season. Currently I'm burning oak off of a log landing from five years ago. When you split it open it's pretty wet inside and sizzles pretty good.

The size of fuel would fall into the thousand hour fuel class. So the equilibrium moisture content doesn't get that low.

Now if it was birch, red maple, pine, etc. it would be pretty soft.  If I see it getting close I can always sell it before it goes bad.

I got a little out of hand last year. The next oak I cut will be for the winter of 2018/19.  45 true cords cut, split, stacked. Wife hates it though.  Will be 15 cords used this year.

Don't forget the lobbyists, in this case, the pellet industry!

Amen and everyone else who stands to make a buck. I'm not so quick to blame one party, it seems it's always save the environment or make legislation to cut an industry down so another can be more greedy.

I'm not sure what that means?  Nothing has changed since they put the oil boiler in 19 years ago, other than adding the OWF.  I just never heard the problem before. I did secure one pipe better and it has seemed to be less of a bang but still there.

This is the second year with the OWB.  Couldn't be happier. I noticed about a month ago what seems to be a water hammer when one of the zone valve closes.  I don't remember it happening any other time.

Here is the lowdown.  The oil burner has one pump and two zone valves. I have a second pump on my furnace that runs 24/7 from my water to water heat exchanger.

When one zone calls for heat the furnace pump comes on and off with no incident. When two zones are open with pump running and one zone valve closes while the other is still open I get the bang.  I've got two air eliminators on the pressurized side.  I don't really have any thoughts on why because it just started doing it or I just don't have any thought.

Thanks

If the powers out and the damper closes what is the likely hood the furnace would boil over?

Plain view doctorine, if it's in plain view it's searchable but only the visible area around the plain view. If conducting plain view search and you see something else in plain view and so on.  It would a be a stretch to say inside the curdalidge fence is off limits if smoke is visible.

Every state is somewhat different but case law is pretty good on the fourth amendment.

Opening the door of the burner could be trickier.

The EPA usually provides the funding to states to enforce clean air. The clean air person in my area used to work for me.  He also ensured I could legally get around my states regs, key word LEGALLY!

That being said our air people act on complaints only and don't patrol.
