Yeah, got up to about 50 here today. Much nicer than below 0 and a couple feet of snow like the same time last year.

Yeah I hear ya..Crazy weather for sure!..Kinda like it in a way..Not dealing with the snow plowing etc.. As a snowmobiler..Def sucks...Cause of the lack of snow..It's def  hurting the local economy that depends on those snowmobilers!! Had a high of 33F today..High 40's for the weekend..

Good Morning Friends,

Watched weather on tv little while ago.  Predicting "spring like" all week!  Said 49 deg for this Thurs...

Hunted deer yesterday and no problem keeping the powder dry w/flintlocks!  I managed to kill a 3 inch maple sapling on the way to a one horned 5 point buck!  Only 35 yd shot, but never saw the sapling.  Rottin' way to break in my new custom flinter!!  Son's 14 yr old friend did take a young doe, so our crew didn't come home empty handed.  Happy to see the youngen succeed after a few misses in his short 3rd season of hunting.  Sure do enjoy our PA flintlock season.  More states should adopt this type season.  Is great fun!

Our crew will spend the afternoon splitting a dump truck load a fire wood for our dear farmer friend.  A very good friend of many yrs and battling cancer for some time now.  Got recent results of his tests and not looking good....  Feel awful about that.

His son has a Timberwolf firewood processor and me and buddies can't wait to see how it operates!  Certainly not affordable for us home owners.

A light sweat shirt and perhaps a cold brewski afterwards should top off this fine day!

Bill,
Sorry to hear about your good friend's struggles. It's terribly hard on everyone involved watching a loved one go through that.
Wish ya' weren't so far away. I'd like to see that processor in operation too. And a cold beer really hits the spot after hard work!

This has been one crazy weather pattern this winter. Its gonna be a short winter this year in NW Ohio anyway even if it does get crappy now. I haven't even got to test my new boiler in the really cold weather yet , but i am sure i will at some point.

Friends,

Sorry to go off topic here, but must say that firewood processor is cat's meowwww!  Filled 5 ton dump truck in a little over 1/2 hr.  Beyond impressed!  And that was with 2 minutes worth of instruction and 4 amateurs at the controls!

Was akin to shaking hands with a super model and knowing it wasn't EVER going to go any where beyond that!!

Was mid 50's again today. I saw some guys planting grass today and then later someone putting drainage tile in a field with a tile plow. Not something I have ever seen being done in January before.  Lol
