How much Insulation pump is located???
« on: May 05, 2013, 07:51:53 PM »

Just wondering how much insulation is good enough in the cabinet on a stove where the pump is located? I insulated my lines and sealed some air gaps on the steel siding of the stove but wondering if this is a bad idea not letting the circ pump breath.

Look up the specs on the pump and insulate so it doesn't get hotter than the max ambient temperature rating.

I found out the Broeder 3 speeds max ambient temp is 104 degrees. Wonder if this is why these pumps fail a lot?

Running hotter would most likely result in the electrical part going bad. All the failures I have seen have been mechanical. My guess is air and iron in the water is their biggest enemy. They seem to work fine for some people and others will have it go out in a year or less over and over.
