I used the Menards adaptor and insulated pipe on mine. Made my own rain cap.

Are you guys just shooting a couple self tapping screws through the adapter into the chimney pipe?

I actually just sat mine on the chimney not realizing there was an adapter. Seems plenty sturdy so far, but havent had a real stiff wind yet either.

Chicken farmer, by "chimney pipe", i'm not sure if you're talking about the Ridgewood chimney or the insulated chimney. I used the locking ring Menards sells to attach the adaptor to the insulated pipe, but I just inserted the adaptor into the Ridgewood chimney. My chimney goes through the roof of a carport so it gets support from that too. My chimney is 7' tall.

I installed my insulated pipe this morning but it's not a real tight fit so a need to secure it better. It's a little loose but it won't come off.  Any suggestions?   I tryed to upload a pic but it said the uploader file was full

I tryed to upload a pic but it said the uploader file was full

Is that exactly what it said? "Uploader file is full"?

I did a search, the only thing I could find under that is about 6 years old in the help section of Simple Machine. The whole forum needs updated but not sure lowly moderators have the access to upgrade.

I've been thru a lot of the behind the scenes stuff looking for a cache that needs to be either dumped or made larger, no luck yet.

Installed the two stacks yesterday, perfect fit over the pipe from Ridgewood.  The hole in the roof was a great fit as well and it is incredibly sturdy.  Caulking with high temp caulk today and waiting for the core driller to punch through basement wall, hopefully tomorrow.  Again, thanks to james, slim and automan...................
