To be perfectly honest, I’ve been at the farm for over 40 years, do any of them stand above the rest, not really. WD40 for displacing moisture or an extremely light lubricant. Deep Creep, PBlaster, Croil, Marvel Mystery Oil, Free All, Liquid Wrench, LubeGard, Lubriplate, Lucas, 3 in 1, etc etc etc are all about the same, some have better lubrication properties than others and some have better penetrating properties than others. Is one a magic bullet? Nope.
Only three products have ever stood above the rest far as we are concerned and the first two are combined. Acetone and ATF combined at 50/50 is the best rust buster we’ve ever found and its far cheaper than the aerosol cans. Far as an anti corrosion or anti seize compound Fluid Film beats the rest hands down. Was specifically formulated for the Navy to combat salt corrosion decades ago, I don’t even buy Never Seize anymore.
Far as cutting the creosote kerosene or diesel will probably work just as well. Anything that can cut heavy petroleum like tar will work equally as well on creosote. Local welding shop quit wasting their time decades ago painting drainage pumps, instead they coat em with roofing tar inside and out cut 25% with gas. Usually do it on a Friday so they can weld safely again by Monday.
