I too just put in a OWB from wood boiler USA... All in all I would say I am pleased with the unit so far. I have the smaller one but I have 2 Heat exchangers in the House and I installed one in my work shop for heat when I want to be out there. I also use a 10 plate heat exchanger for my water heater. All I bought from wood boiler was the Stove and the underground insulated pex.
One thing I did was close off the box where the air inducer motor is ,put a Solenoid actuated door in it and wired it to the Air inducer motor. This shuts almost all the air off to the fire box when it reaches temperature.

Thanks everyone,
Also good idea PTT do you have any pics?

I can try to get a picture... I fabed a bottom for the sheet metal around the inducer blower and then cut a 4 inch square in the bottom of the piece I fabricated. I bought a 1 inch travel 120 v. Solenoid from Grainger and fabricated a mount . You just need a way to mount the solenoid and make it operate a steel plate to open and close off the hole. You can wire it into the blower so it pops open when it calls for heat and closes when it reaches temp.

when i made my blower and solenoid i did what your did too...then i found on warm spring days that with my long chimney there ws enough draft that the fire would pull air through the motor windings and overheat the stove. i ended up making a box on teh stove with a door inside it that the solenoid pulled open and closed and mounted the blower outside this box
just something you might watch for in warm weather?

OK ....thanks for the heads up. So far it hasn't even come close to over heating. But if it does I will look at that first.....Thanks again .

Congrats! Everyone here loves pictures. I plan on posting pictures just as soon as Ridgekid drives to Mi and shows me how to do it ;) I'm thinking that he must be contractually bound in some way, shape, or form to do so as an esteemed member of the Global Moderation family :photo:
