Have a log house to install a new unit in. It's finished log inside and out, no insulation except in ceiling. 40'x72' main floor with 12' ceiling on main floor. Top floor 10' ceiling. Will be heated and cooled with 3 1200 cfm units, two on lower floor. Top unit will not be hooked to outdoor furnace' used mainly for cooling. Also hook up hot water. Very open design house, 22+' to top. Also attached 3 car garage not being heated now, but who knows in future.
Those of you that have run a G4, is this big enough to put a decent pull on that unit or is this still G2 territory?

Given the lack of winter and as long as you don't get much heat loss into the ground from your pipe, the 200 will suit you fine.

Another consideration, is this sitting on a high spot with out a tree in site?
Planted a windbreak here for the house 30 years ago, you can step outside and make it to the boiler fine and it feels like a nice day, get ten feet past the boiler and you head back in to put on at least another layer of clothes. My cousins house sits out in the open with no real windbreaks in site, doesn’t matter where the wind comes from, it’s always cold there in the winter.

Yes, on a ridge exposed to west, north and east. Will be windy I think. It's right at 5000 sq.ft. but the extra ceiling height would make it more equivalent to 7000 sq.ft. And possibly adding on 1500sq.ft. garage.
I know the G.s are strong and so far G200's have taken anything we threw at them but are rated at 5000sq.ft. Know on a conventional I'd want a bigger unit no Question.

I still think a G200 will be fine, would be different if it was a hundred miles further north.
Thing I’ve found if it comes down to a G200 not cutting it, its a lot easier to move a slightly used G200 than a G400.

Shepard boy, we have our issues, the manufacturer and I have issues, in your area and lack of necessity, the G 200 will be fine, of course the Polar G 2 plus would absolutely kick butt but you would need to buy that from me and I don't see that happening!

Update-
Customer decided to go with a G400, three air handlers with possibly a fourth. Possible shop in the future.
Fired up and heating while finishing inside. No more propane!

That is red clay. They say it's the iron that gives it the dark red look.

Yeah I was just teasing.. We have a bunch of old ore mines about 40 miles north of me and everything is red/rust color. Was SCUBA diving in one of the mines last year and it took 3 days to get the red tint out of my skin lol. Was fourwheeling up there a long time ago too, climbing the ore piles and mud bogging and such. Never did get the stains out of my tires
