I bet there's something wrong with that pump. I'd try a new one.

WoodMaster / Re: Woodmasters clean fire
« on: June 06, 2020, 12:56:12 PM »
I know this has been dead for a long time, just thought I'd mention I did a search for the woodmaster cleanfire and came across some pictures that look identical to the central boiler classic Edge.
I'm wondering if it's a copy with CB owning Woodmaster now?

Central Boiler / Re: She's tucked in for the summer

I can't believe it, I'm heating again tonight. It's a very wet sort of cold. We've had several inches the last day or so, with more all week.
Gives me the chills, and I've got to install a stove in the rain today.   Brr. :)

General Discussion / Re: Wiring new garage

Sounds like a nice garage. I've never done what you've done mounting a panel in foam. But one huge concern- surely you're not going to heat with electric! Lol.

Hardy / The future
« on: May 06, 2020, 05:09:42 AM »
Hi guys, question here.  I had a customer wanting to trade in a Hardy stove the other day. He wanted to swap because he said his dealer said Hardy was shutting down. I don't know if there is any truth to this, not sure if I want to take in a unit with no support in the future.
Have any of you heard anything?
If it's not true I'll remove this post to avoid spreading rumors.

Polar Furnace / Re: Spring Boiler Cleanup
« on: May 05, 2020, 04:45:36 AM »
My experience, follow the airway all the way through. Clean any obstructions/creosote/ash. Obviously every model is designed differently, but the principles are all the same.
If the air can move, it'll burn good. Choke it down and it'll creosote like crazy.

I'd just take a scraper and knock the creosote off the door and firebox door. Mine looks a lot worse, yours isn't bad at all.

Where is the creosote you need to remove? I'm not super familiar with the polar units, pictures might help. Has anyone else on the forum run a polar?

Equipment / Re: Battery chainsaw

My father-in-law has one of those. Not a big gas saw for sure but pretty handy to have around. Very impressive, battery saws have come a long way.

Heatmor / Re: 200CSS relief vent rubber ball
« on: April 20, 2020, 11:31:23 AM »
I don't know how the relief vent is supposed to be.
Interestingly, I had a heatmor traded in here that was run dry and burnt and leaking. I found the leak by filling with water, but now I'm trying to figure out how to drain. I don't see a drain valve anywhere. ? Don't mean to derail your thread.

Make sure there's 120 v. at the pump. Otherwise remove and check for rotation, you might be able to see the impeller looking in the outlet side. If it's bad get a new one and see if you can get warranty.

Global Hydronics / Still running

Installed this old Global unit the other day. Many of them have bit the dust but this one is still chugging along.

I've heard it needs to dry several weeks. I dunno.
I just got some signs ordered from signs.com. Super fast turnaround and shipping. We'll see what they look like.
