That is really neat. Perfect way to preserve it.

Thanks RSI!

I don't now who all is making hot air outdoor furnaces anymore. Do your research, I haven't seen anyone on here that has been running one.
As marty suggested we do quite a few hooking up to a house and shop, only warming the shop up when you're actually  working in it. An oversized blower heats up pretty quickly.
With a boiler antifreeze would depend on where you live. In the south you could probably let the pump run. Up north it's too risky. You'd want a boiler with really low water volume so it heats up quick, a C150 would be a possibility. It holds 60 or so gallons.

DIY remodeling with Hydronics / Re: Copper tubing for wall heat?

Im getting ready to start a similar project this summer if it slows down enough. I'll post some pictures when I get done. Have a room with a cast iron rad, but would like the wall space, so I'm thinking radiant wall. Floor is concrete so no radiant there.
Thanks for the pictures!

Portage & Main / Re: Retiring an ML30

If it's not leaking it should be worth several thousand. But putting it on FB marketplace or Craigslist would move it much quicker I'd guess. Spring is pretty slow time for selling a furnace.

HeatMaster / Spring rebate
« on: March 19, 2020, 05:11:59 AM »
Hi folks, thought I'd let you know Heatmaster is offering a rebate up to $4,000 on select models this spring. There's never been better pricing on a G series unit.

Yup! I'm thankful I live in a county with 1 stoplight. I wouldn't know the difference except for the news. But I'm staying home to be sure. Just doing service calls, mailing out parts.
Looks like I'll have to cancel several trips I was hoping to do.

Very interesting.
Is there a noticable breeze coming out of the top register? What temps?

Post pictures of what you find. I haven't run into the E classics much down here in VA so I'm not much help.

That is a nightmare. I'm really sorry to hear this.
A strong reminder to all of us, think about what might happen if your stove boiled low in water, spill some hot ashes, etc.

Very strange Eldon, your chart says very different from mine for some reason. Even if you look at the technical specs on supplyhouse for that same plate, it says 8.6 PSI at 6.2 GPM. Odd they'd have 3 different sets of specs for the exact same plate!
Don't want to derail this thread, we could start a new one.  I noticed the discrepancy on supplyhouse too, I checked and got  some numbers from GEA, they're saying 1.2 psi pressure drop for 7 gpm using a 3x8 30 plate. I dunno.

It's crazy how many old houses still have the old knob and tube wiring bring used. Even with Romex you'll see junctions with just tape (and peeling), dangled here and there.
Certain areas have the Federal Pacific breaker boxes which won't trip too.
