What A419 Johnson control?
« on: January 09, 2015, 05:27:04 PM »

I think I had a power surge today and I lost my A419 on my boiler today. Good thing I had a spare from my old ML30. Now I want to get a replacement from supplyhouse.com but don't know what one to get. Looking for some help.

I have never done business with them but the A-419 is probably the most used control in the heating and cooling industry, it is very simple as you know and any model chosen should work as long as it breaks connection on temp rise.

How many years did you get out of your ML 30?

The upper heat exchanger rotted out from the inside out right at the weld inside the door. This was the front door.

Was that a bad unit? Or something you did wrong? there is no point in buy a boiler if we have to replace it every 5 years.

It was a mixture of things. Some my fault, some from a BAD dealer, and some design. I didn't have any help from my dealer and he is no longer a dealer.

My water was too cool with a 5º diff. I was looping my return water into my work room in my garage and then back to the stove. I was burning year round.

The Ml's clean-out door wasn't insulated (Bl now has the storm door). So the warm exhaust would hit the cold steel and condensation.

That's the short story.
