Title: New install
Post by: Jonathan8186 on December 29, 2014, 07:17:04 PM
Looking for some help. I purchased a CrownRoyal 7300 and I'm in the process of having the house built and would like to know what items should I address? Is there anything I should have installed to make it easier to install the boiler after construction?

Might as well put your underground line in while the excavators are still there.

If you haven't had the foundation poured yet then pour the pad for the boiler when they come to do the foundation. Also if they haven't done the foundation yet then put something in the forms to give you a 6 inch hole through foundation wall for your piping.

Ok thanks. Do I have to have 120 volts to the boiler?

I have poured the concrete pad and installed a rail system for the wood. I also put a roof over all of it.

Anything on the inside of the house I need to do?

Attach a 4x6 of 4x8 sheet of ply to the basement wall near your boiler or furnace so that you can mount your HX and plumbing from the owb right to it.

Look at Ultra Fin radiant floor heat before the ceilings go up!

Thanks for everyone's input. Does anyone have a diagram for the plumbing? I have a electric hot water tank and eletric heat pump / air handler.

Each installation will be different, can you give us a better idea of what you are heating and what you want to heat with, a drawing would help!

just another thought, u should run a water line and additional wiring for outside barns, sheds etc,,,,,while drench is dug and holes are walls, in my mind this is a huge advantage....

Absolutely.

When I installed the Logstor last fall to replace my original line I went ahead and buried a water line and installed a hydrant. Right next to the OWB and the driveway, a 30 foot piece of hose is enough to be able to give something a quick spray down instead of messing with all that garden hose like before.
